YounYoung Park is a composer, lyricist, bookwriter, and musical arranger
working internationally across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
She is the winner of the CJ Best Musical Theater Writing Award, recipient of the MTM:UK Judges’
Discretionary Award, and finalist for the Stiles & Drewe New Song Award. Her work has been supported by
the Puffin Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.
Selected works include Rapunzel (commissioned by the Singapore Repertory Theatre; broke box office
records with sold-out performances, two extensions, and the longest-running musical in Singapore at the
time), Shooting Star (commissioned by Seoul City; Sejong Center M Theater, Mapo Art Center),
Dance of a Stranger (formerly Li-Tsin, commissioned by CJ Cultural Foundation; CJ Azit Theater),
Clara Button and the Magical Hat (co-written with Susannah Pearse, based on the licensed V&A children’s book, developed at Jackson Lane in London), Friends (stage adaptation of the hit Korean film Friends, produced at Busan Cinema Center), and The Emperor’s Quest (winner at MTM:UK). She also wrote lyrics for the animated feature Princess Aya, which received awards at Bucheon International Animation Festival and was screened at Busan International Film Festival.
Beyond her creative work, YounYoung has taught musical theatre and composition as Adjunct Faculty at universities and graduate programs in Korea, including Seoul Institute of the Arts, Chung-Ang University, Inha University, Dankook University, and Kookmin University. She has also led masterclasses at NYU Tisch Asia (Singapore), University of Wolverhampton, Lincoln University (UK), and workshops for younger students in the UK.
She holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, an AA in Applied Music (Composition) from the Seoul Institute of the Arts, and a BA in Psychology from Ewha Womans University. YounYoung is also the co-founder and artistic director of EnoB, a nonprofit arts organization in New York and Seoul.
박윤영은 아시아, 유럽, 미국을 무대로 활동하는 뮤지컬 작곡가, 작사가, 대본가이자 음악 편곡가이다.
그녀는 CJ 창작뮤지컬 최우수상을 수상했으며, 영국 에든버러에서 열린 MTM:UK 뮤지컬 어워즈 특별상을 받았다. 또한 Stiles & Drewe 신곡 경연대회의 본선 및 우수작에 선정되었으며, Puffin Foundation과 뉴욕 주 예술위원회에 선정되어 지원을 받았다.
대표작으로는 싱가포르 레퍼토리 시어터의 위촉으로 제작되어 전석 매진 및 2회 연장으로 당시 싱가포르 최장기 공연 기록을 세운 라푼젤, 서울시 위촉으로 세종문화회관 M씨어터와 마포아트센터 등에서 공연된 슈팅스타, CJ문화재단 위촉으로 CJ아지트에서 초연된 내 마음의 꽃, 리진 (Dance of a Stranger), V&A 출판 아동서적을 기반으로 잭슨레인(런던)에서 개발·워크숍된 클라라 버튼과 마법의 모자, 부산영화의전당에서 공연된 친구(원작영화: 친구), MTM:UK에서 수상한 The Emperor’s Quest, 그리고 나르시시아(Once Upon a Time in Narcissia)가 있다. 또한 장편 애니메이션 프린세스 아야의 작사가로 참여하여, 부천국제애니메이션페스티벌 특별상과 부산국제영화제 공식 초청작에 선정되었다.
창작 활동과 더불어 박윤영은 서울예술대학교, 중앙대학교, 인하대학교, 단국대학교, 국민대학교 등 여러 대학 및 대학원에서 뮤지컬과 작곡을 강의했다. 또한 NYU Tisch Asia(싱가포르), 울버햄튼 대학교, 링컨 대학교(영국) 등에서 마스터클래스를 진행했고, 영국 초등학교에서도 청소년을 대상으로 한 워크숍을 이끌었다.
학력으로는 뉴욕대학교 티쉬예술대학원 뮤지컬 창작과(극작 및 작곡) 석사, 서울예술대학교 실용음악과 작곡전공 졸업, 이화여자대학교 심리학 학사를 취득했다. 현재 그녀는 뉴욕과 서울을 기반으로 예술 소외계층에 문화를 전하는 비영리 단체 이노비(EnoB)의 공동 설립자이자 예술감독으로 활동 중이다.
